Univision radio stations host national radiothon March 4 and 5

Univision Radio and its radio stations around the country will join the fight against childhood cancer during the Promesa y Esperanza (Promise and Hope) radiothon, to be held on March 4-5, 2010, benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research centers. Latin music superstar Luis Fonsi will serve as an official celebrity ambassador for the 6th Annual Thanks and Giving® campaign supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through televised spots to air in Spanish-language markets around the United States and Puerto Rico, the Latin pop music superstar - nominated for two Latin GRAMMY awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year - will work to raise awareness of the Thanks and Giving campaign and encourage U.S. Latinos to give thanks for the healthy children in their lives and to help those who are not.

The Hispanic community around the country tuned in and helped raise more than $633,000 for the kids of St. Jude

Hispanic radio listeners in more than a dozen cities tuned in to help fight childhood cancer, raising more than $633,000 in cash and pledges during the 2nd annual "Promesa y Esperanza" (Promise and Hope) national radiothon to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The two-day radiothon took place October 8 - 9 in Philadelphia, Charlotte, New Orleans, Providence, Norfolk, Durham, Nashville, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Louisville, Richmond and Springfield, Massachusetts.
