Promesa y Esperanza is a Hispanic radiothon fund-raising program dedicated to supporting the medical treatment and research for childhood cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Since its inception in 1997, Promesa y Esperanza has grown to be one of the most successful radio fund-raising programs in the U.S. Hispanic market, raising more than $25 million in pledges.
There are 75 stations in more than 40 radio markets across the U.S. that are committed to the program.
The Promesa y Esperanza radio program gives partner stations an opportunity to increase ratings, create sales and NTR opportunities, and strengthen their image in the community.
Radio stations are able to keep their regular format while integrating the
St. Jude message through interviews with patients, families, and doctors.
St. Jude staff organizes all details of the events, including materials, volunteers, and phone-banks.
Radiothons are typically two-day events, generally held on Thursdays and Fridays, which broadcast from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.
