The greatest happiness a mother could have is to see her child grow up healthy and strong.  However, for Paz Errazuris, mother of Benjamín, this joy was overshadowed by the news that her 3-month-old son suffered from a terminal disease.

Benjamín never showed any symptoms of his condition.  “One day, I noticed that my son had a little bump in his abdomen, and when I went to the pediatrician, the doctor said to me that he had to run some medical tests,” said Paz.  The results of the tests revealed that Benjamín had a tumor called rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive soft tissue tumor that can arise virtually anywhere in the body.

Benjamín’s parents heard about St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through some of their friends.  It was then that Benjamín’s doctor referred him to the hospital.  “I felt I could lose my child in any moment,” said Paz.  “When we arrived at St. Jude, I felt like a glimmer of hope radiated from my son.  St. Jude made my faith stronger”.

Please, do not wait any longer. Send in your donation today.  Allow Benjamín and other children like him to receive the best medical treatments to fight cancer and other catastrophic diseases at no cost to their families.  Your donation will help cover the cost of treatment for our children.
